Meet Miss Bayens

My name is Tara Bayens and I was born in Wisconsin a long time ago. I went to elementary school in Wisconsin, middle/high school in Alabama, and then I finished college in Alabama before moving to Florida. I come from a large family with three brothers and a sister. I am one of the youngest in my family and definitely the shortest. I grew up watching sports and love football, hockey, and a little racing.
I went to college in Alabama at Jacksonville State University. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education K-5. After a couple of years teaching in Manatee County, I went back to school and earned my Masters in Elementary Curriculum from USF-Sarasota/Manatee. I have been teaching in Manatee County since 2007. I have taught a variety of grade levels, including K, 1st, 3rd and 4th grade. I have always loved teaching third grade and find the most passion teaching the curriculum for this grade level.
I am so thankful for having joined the Harvey family when it first opened. I am excited for the new year and am ready to pass on my love for teaching to the students who walk through the doors. I cannot wait to make memories that will last a lifetime and inspire them to have a passion for themselves to know they can do anything with their lives.
